Today's letter is on
Your Relationship with God.
How do you relate to God?
We know through Scripture, that God has many roles in our life:
He is our Creator, our Master, our King, our Lord...
But Jesus came to reveal a new role that God wants to play in the lives of His people.
One that has the greatest potential to change the way you look at yourself from today.
Jesus said in Matthew 6:9 “Pray in this way: ‘Our Father, who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name..."
Before Jesus came on the scene, people would not address God as their Father.
Yet, we see Jesus teaching them to pray to God and to address Him as Father.
As Paul put it in Galatians 4:6, we have received sonship, we have been adopted into the family of God (if you are a believer in Christ, we are quite literally sisters in God!) :
"because ye are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father."
As daughters, God wants us to relate to Him intimately. He wants you to run to Him as a little girl would run into the arms of her Father. For protection, provision, love, comfort, sustenance, peace - everything you desire can be found in the arms of your Abba Father.
"Abba" in the original language is considered to be a term of intimacy, used by a child in a similar way to the use of “papa” or “daddy.”
My relationship with God has been so intimate since I had a real revelation of what it means for Him to be my Father. Yes, He is my Lord, my God, my King, but He is also my Abba.
When my Dad passed away last month, my Heavenly Father was the greatest comfort and I took joy in knowing that they were together in heavenly realms.
My dear sister, the Master of the universe, the Creator of all things, and the King over the earth,
ALSO
happens to be your Heavenly Father!
Imagine how different your mindset would be if this truth filled your heart. You would enter every room knowing who's daughter you are and who's Kingdom you belong to. You would strut with such security and boldness because you know the Most High has called you His very own and loves you deeply.
My challenge to you this week
is to a beautiful one. Its goal is to help you wrap your identity around your Heavenly Father.
Here it is:
For the next 7 days, every morning when your wake up, before you touch your phone or even your Bible, as soon as you open your eyes,
I challenge you to address God (through spoken prayer or in your journaling) as Abba Father - thank Him for being your Father
and
invite Him
into every area of your day ahead.
Prayer
:
Heavenly Father, You are our Protector, our Provider, our Peace - thank you for calling us Yours. We entrust our lives to Your capable hands and ask that You help us build our identity around You and Your kingdom. In Jesus name, Amen <3
Meditation verses
:
Galatians 4:6 and verses on God as our Father:

In next week's letter, we will continue on your identity, mindset and building unshakeable confidence in Christ to achieve the goals you set from last week's letter.
