The Sister Letters
HELLO, KINGDOM WOMAN Take back your life - build your very own life management system!
To My Sisters
This is the final instalment of this Series of Letters. Don't worry, you will still be receiving Sister Letters around all the topics we have discussed and much more to support you in your growth as a Kingdom Woman. But today's email is a special one as it marks the end of our first 5 part Series. This letter was a spiritual fight to produce as I have been in the busiest season of my life so far, but God has now given me the words for His daughters.
We are bringing together EVERYTHING we covered in the last emails with a system to keep us organised and productive.
The Areas
Here are the 7 key areas of a woman’s life:
Spiritual growth and Wisdom
Health and Fitness
God-sized dream
Relationships
Beauty and Appearance
School and/or Work
General Life Admin
I have found that everything in my life fits into at least one of these 7 areas and my goals all exist in one of these 7 areas.
The Goals
Within each area (above) you then have to set an ultimate goal that you are working towards.
For example, the goal to
get into better shape would be health and fitness
get higher grades would be school and work
study the Bible more consistently and apply biblical principles to your life would be spiritual growth and wisdom
become a content creator or build a kingdom business would be linked to your God sized dream
establish more godly friendships would be a relationship goal
always dress clean, modest and elegant would be a beauty and appearance goal
stay on top of your household chores and keep your life organised by creating a system would fall under general life admin
You see how it works? You are creating goals for every area of your life so that you can start to lead a life you love, and not be led by the waves and winds of a life without structure.
So, you have your goals, but we all know that setting the goal is only part of the process.
In order to actually achieve the goal, you have to turn it into a measurable and attainable project.
The Projects and Daily/Weekly Tasks
Taking the examples above, here is how you can turn each goal into a project:
In order to 'get in better shape' (goal) your project may be to lose 20 pounds. Your daily/weekly tasks for this can include researching the best methods to do this; cooking 3 low carb meals a week; or going for a jog 30 minutes every morning.
In order to 'get higher grades' (goal) your project may be to score at-least 70% in your next exam. Your daily/weekly tasks would likely include revision; prayers; doing a mock paper every day; or meeting with a tutor once a week.
In order to 'study the Bible more' (goal) your project may be to start a Bible challenge to read a chapter a day of Romans with a friend to keep each other accountable. The daily tasks may be to spend 45 minutes a day reading the chapter and discussing with your friend.
In order to 'become a content creator' (goal) your project may be to grow 10,000 followers on Instagram. The daily/weekly tasks you would do to reach this may include researching how to create a personal brand; investing in a social media mentor/coach; and starting to create and post content consistently.
I could go on, but you get how it works.A good life management system should not only help you set your goals for each area of your life, but it must also help you create measurable projects to achieve those goals and then track the daily/weekly to-do list items that will lead you closer to achieving those goals.
When we break it down like this, you can see that you can truly achieve anything you apply yourself to. The real work comes from practicing the discipline to achieve these things and having the right mindset to know that all is possible through Christ.
This is where a lot of people get stuck.
The Power in you through Christ to achieve it
In order to create something like this you have to believe that you have the power to achieve your goals. You are just a few actions away from the woman God has created you to be, but you need to rise up with diligence and discipline to fulfil all that God has poured in you. Many women do not know the creative ability they possess to make the vision in their hearts a reality. I want you to know that there is NOTHING you can’t achieve with God. Once you know that, you become dangerous to the enemy - a woman of wisdom and power!Meditate on these verses when you begin to doubt yourself:"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13"I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:14"I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, that He considered me faithful and appointed me to service." 1 Timothy 1:12Meditate on these verses when you desire motivation towards your goals:"The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty." Proverbs 21:5"The hand of the diligent will rule, while the slothful will be put to forced labour." Proverbs 12:24"Whoever works his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits lacks sense." Proverbs 12:11The Life Management System
So now that you know:
The 7 areas of your life
The goals you want to set for each area of your life
The projects to help you reach those goals
The daily and weekly actions you need to make for those projects
And the power and principles you have been given from God to achieve all you set your heart to…
I want to recommend two methods to help you organise your life into a simple yet lifechanging system.
Traditional
This is the good ol' pen and paper method. You can literally plan out everything above in a physical notebook, starting with the areas of your life, then your goals and the accompanying projects. You can then create daily to-do lists for each project on flashcards so that you can keep them in sight and tick them off throughout your day.
This method is great to start but it has its limitations as life gets busier. I did this method for many years, but as you can imagine, it is not always practical to rely on pieces of paper which have a way, over time, of disappearing and reappearing whenever they wish. Even for the most organised among us, there's no efficient way to cross reference all the different components of your system on a physical notebook, as the manual process for this can be time consuming and cumbersome. This is where technology comes in.
Digital
There are online platforms which allow you to organise your life in a streamlined and easy to navigate way. I am currently graduating to a digital system called Notion which is a life management tool that allows you to create a system just like I outlined above, tracking the areas, goals, projects and daily action items for my life all in one place. I am currently in the process of building this out and can't wait to share it with you when its complete. If you want updates on how to create your own digital life management system, be sure to follow my stories on social media where I’ll be sharing more on this. For now my challenge to you is to think about the areas, goals and projects you would like to start tracking to improve the quality of your life. You can do this in a physical notebook and then when you are ready, you can start exploring digital platforms to help streamline this process for you. As part of this community, you will be first to know when any life management templates I publish become available.I want to see you win in Christ Jesus, and become the woman God has called you to be. That is the ultimate purpose of these Sister Letters. I hope you have enjoyed our first Series and the future letters continue to bless you.Prayer: As Paul prayed in Ephesians 3:16, 'I pray that out of the riches of His glory He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being.' I pray that every woman in this community has the grace and discipline to take hold of her life, and claim back her destiny from your hand of the enemy. I pray that we will fulfil destiny and achieve the goals that God has laid on our hearts. In Jesus Name, Amen <3
