The Proverbs Challenge Day 16 - Chapter 16

Hi, Woman of God

Welcome to Day 16 of the Challenge!I have you have had a blessed day. I am so excited for the ways God is speaking to us with these chapters. Let's go deeper in this second half of the Challenge. Below are my study notes for today's chapter using the S.O.A.P method. Let's dive in! 

SCRIPTURE

Proverbs Chapter 16 verses 24 and 20. 

OBSERVATION

Verse 24Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.Yet another verse that speaks about the emotional and physical effect of what we listen to (read yesterday's observation for more on this).It makes me wonder how healthy we would be (in every sense of the word) if we committed a year to hearing only the true Word of God. It’s amazing to think about since we are constantly bombarded with other voices, worldly influences, words of unbelief, negative reports/news. All spiritual forces understand the power and wisdom that a person gains from being in the Word exclusively, and therefore the enemy fights to attack our faith, keep us double minded and attack the purity of God's words with contaminated words. Praise God that we are hearing the truth during this Challenge in His Word!  Verse 20He who heeds the word wisely will find good, and whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he.This verse also stood out to me. I love that God has an answer for the happiness question.People pursue happiness in many places, yet God has said that when we hear true words of wisdom and trust in the Lord that those words are true, then happy are we. We are called to be just like a child who trusts in the character of their father, knowing that he will do what he says he will do. But this is only possible through intimacy with God, knowing Him personally and closely for yourself.Each day we spend reading and studying the Word we are building our relationship with our Heavenly Father. Glory to God!

APPLICATION

I will continue to keep my mind on words that align with God's truth. I will get familiar with identifying when a thought is not from God and I will seek to surround myself with both people and media that's committed to speaking truth.Knowing that this all this is only possible through the help of the Holy Spirit, I will seek God's grace everyday as He aligns my desires with His.

PRAYER

Thank You Father for Your Word which allows me to come closer to You. I am understanding Your ways, Your mind and Your principles. I pray Lord that You continue to teach me and reveal deep mysteries to my heart from Your word. Let my desires be for You and Your purpose over my life. Have the glory in my life and help me to keep my eyes and ears firmly on what is true and of good report. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
