The Proverbs Challenge Day 19 - Chapter 19

Hi, Woman of God

Welcome to Day 19 of the Challenge!Happy Friday to us! I have seen all your messages after yesterday's email asking to know how to discover your God-given gifts and start using them for God's glory. I am so pleased that so many of us share this desire. I will be creating a resource on this to share with you all. Stay tuned to the Sister Letters for more on this. Below are my study notes for today's chapter using the S.O.A.P method. 

SCRIPTURE

Proverbs Chapter 19 verses 20 and 27. 

OBSERVATION

 There were so many powerful verses in this chapter, but I'll dive into two which teach the same principle.verse 20 "listen to counsel and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your latter days"; and verse 27 " cease listening to instruction, my son, and you will stray from the words of knowledge."There is a direct correlation between how consistently we listen to counsel/instruction and how wise we are. It may seem obvious but it’s easy to forget that hearing the word of God (and listening to sources that speak the word of God) is what will not only make us wise but also keep us wise. Good counsel protects us from forging our own ways and our own paths which are always incorrect without God. Proverbs is continually teaching us to keep pursuing the wisdom of God and I hope that this will be a message that stays with us even after the completion of this challenge.

APPLICATION

I will continue to pursue the wisdom of God across every area of my life and prioritise the time I spend with Him and studying His word.

PRAYER

I pray that we continue to listen to and desire good counsel. I pray that instruction from the Lord is our daily seeking so that our lives reflect His will and His glory is evident in us. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
