The Proverbs Challenge Day 2 - Chapter 2

Hi, Woman of God

Welcome to Day 2 of the Challenge!How are you feeling today? I got my Bible time in earlier during lunch. Don't worry if you missed Day 1, a lot of girlies joined us on the Challenge today, so jump in where you are and let's commit to the remaining days! Below is my study notes for today's chapter using the S.O.A.P method. Looking forward to hearing some of yours! I love receiving the snaps on Instagram, y'all are amazing!  

SCRIPTURE

Proverbs Chapter 2 (the chapter as a whole with emphasis on verses 4 and 8). 

OBSERVATION

Just like yesterday’s chapter, chapter 2 is emphasising the importance of Wisdom to make sure that the reader is in no doubt about why Wisdom is what we need more than anything else. 

I observe that Wisdom has to be pursued. A wise person doesn’t become wise by accident, but it is the result of an intentional seeking, searching and uncovering. According to verse 8, every good path is from God and we are called to remain in the paths of righteousness.My overall observation from this Chapter is that having the wisdom of God is a shield from all forms of evil (verses 12-19).

APPLICATION

If God’s Wisdom is revealed to those who search and seek diligently, then I will pursue Wisdom with a committed heart. I will set aside time each day to study God’s Word and learn the Wisdom I need. As I read through Proverbs this month, I will approach it with the understanding that I am coming to learn the ways and the paths of God that will preserve me, keep me and deliver me from the way of evil. 

PRAYER

Dear Lord, continue to increase my desire for Wisdom. Give me the grace to be a woman who seeks, searches and cries out for wisdom in my life, that I may be a blessing to those around me and enjoy the fruit of Wisdom in my life. In Jesus name, Amen.
