The Proverbs Challenge Day 20 - Chapter 20

Hi, Woman of God

Welcome to Day 20 of the Challenge!Hope you are having a lovely Saturday sister. Below are my study notes for today's chapter using the S.O.A.P method. Let’s jump in!

SCRIPTURE

Proverbs Chapter 20 verse 9.

OBSERVATIONverse 9Who can say, “I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin”?This verse reveals how none of us can save ourselves. We cannot make ourselves clean or pure. We all need a Saviour. Christ (perfection Himself) is the only one who can save us. The gospel is amazing because it puts everyone on the same level: every person was born into sin and is in need of saving - no body can stand before God and say “I made myself clean. I was without sin. I lived a pure life worthy of God’s standards”. The only thing we can say is “I accepted Christ’s free gift of righteousness. He is my salvation and in Him alone I make my boast”.The moment a person begins to point to themselves as the reason for their righteousness or salvation, they have failed to understand the simplicity and the wisdom of the gospel.

APPLICATION

I will continue to remind myself of the meaning of the gospel and commit myself to understanding the significance of what Christ did by dying on the cross for us.

PRAYER

Thank You Lord for Your loving sacrifice on the cross for me. Thank You for making my heart clean. I pray that my life brings glory to You. In Jesus name, amen.
