The Proverbs Challenge Days 29 and 30 - Chapters 29 and 30
Hi, Woman of God
So apparently yesterday's email (Chapter 29) did not send to some of you. Ladies, let us keep praying as the enemy is desperately fighting against what we are doing in this challenge and is still looking to hinder us right at the end. However, he will not succeed to discourage us, we will remain consistent in God's word! Here is a link to access yesterday's email if you didn't receive it: https://us12.campaign-archive.com/home/?u=c3d68ef009bcb5bccca6d8a50&id=0802d94172I will also include yesterday's and today's emails in this letter for your ease of review. See my notes below for Chapters 29 and 30! Let's dive in.

OBSERVATION
Chapter 29 verse 25
"The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe"We all like to be liked by the people in our lives, but that same desire can make us victim to the danger of fearing man. Fearing man is to be overly concerned about people's opinions of you, so much so that you alter your behaviour and actions to suit them, even when you know that it is to your detriment or against God's will. This verse is another reminder that covering the truth for fear of offending people will bring a snare. It’s a trap that prevents many believers from speaking the truth that sets others free. The enemy knows that the moment Christians start to speak out with wisdom against the evils being normalised, that this will be the same moment the kingdom of darkness loses its stronghold over the mind of our generation. The wisdom of God and the Truth of Christ which has the power to save has been entrusted to us as Christians to speak boldly to all men. Deliverance of the captives is quite literally in our mouths. Yet our words and our speaking is the exact thing the enemy seeks to silence, primarily through the fear of man. Thankfully, however, the second half of the verse offers the solution. It says we are safe when we trust God. Trust comes from relationship. Fellowshipping with God through His Word leads to our boldness and to our ability to trust His character, His nature and His promises to us. As our relationship with Him grows, do does our desire to obey Him and as a result, fear of man disappears.Your mindset becomes "if this great God is for me and desires the best for me, then I will choose Him, what can man do to me?" (see Romans 8:31).Glory to God for calling us into relationship with Him!
Chapter 30 verses 7, 8 and 9
"Two things I request of You (Deprive me not before I die):Remove falsehood and lies far from me;Give me neither poverty nor riches—feed me with the food allotted to me; Lest I be full and deny You, and say, “Who is the Lord?”Or lest I be poor and steal, and profane the name of my God."This passage confirms to me that there is temptation in both poverty and riches. We often hear about how money can turn hearts away from God, but we don't hear as much about how poverty can also turn hearts away from God.Poverty can lead you to do things that are against God's will simply out of sheer desperation for survival. Conversely, there is a level of wealth one may attain that can lead them to consider themselves self-sufficient, without the need for God.The principle here is the dangers of both extremes. Solomon is enforcing the importance of balance. It is good to remain within the parameters that God desires for us. He has allotted food to me and I want no less and no more than what God has for me. God desires that we enjoy the beautiful things He has allotted to us but He doesn't want it to take our hearts away from Him. Rather, He is calling us to live a life characterised by balance where Christ remains the centre of our hearts in every season we experience.APPLICATION
Chapter 29 verse 25
I will prioritise my relationship with God above every other relationship in my life. I will entrust my life to God, knowing that He is able to teach me, instruct me and deliver me. I will pray daily that I don't fall victim to the trap of fearing man, even when it proves difficult. But rather I will pray for God to help me trust Him more, with each area of my life.
Chapter 30 verses 7, 8 and 9
As I continue to enjoy the fruits of diligence and the success that God gives, I will be prayerful to ensure that my heart posture is towards my God. I will seek Him with the understanding that everything I have and could ever have is because of Him. I will thank Him often for being our source and our sustainer. PRAYER
Dear Abba Father, I pray that you take us deeper with You. Help us to trust You more. Even when the voices around us speak differently, and man seeks to influence us to the ways of this world, allow us to be steadfast and unmovable in You. Teach us Your wisdom so that when we speak men will marvel at the Truth that we carry through You. Help us to enjoy the things God has allotted to us and to live a life of balance. Lord, be the centre of our hearts in every season we encounter. We love you Lord, take all the glory in our lives. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
