The Proverbs Challenge Day 11 - Chapter 11
Hi, Woman of God
Welcome to Day 11 of the Challenge!Another evening spent in the Word, God's Word is so satisfying to the soul.I had many verses to explore in this chapter but we'll be discussing some of these life-changing revelations in our next Bible Study video call within the private women's community (more on this at the end of the email).Below, you'll see my study notes for today's chapter using the S.O.A.P method. Let's jump in!
SCRIPTURE
Proverbs Chapter 11:14 "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counsellors there is safety." (NKJV)
OBSERVATION
This one is one of my favourite verses that has been engrained in my head because of how often its quoted. Yet, the principle still stands: it reveals how there is protection in seeking wise counsel and danger in relying on your own understanding alone when making decisions.God desires for us to fellowship and to learn from others. We were not designed to be islands who go through life in isolation. These are some ways that I can be introduce more wise counsel into my life:
Reading and studying the Bible as we are currently doing
Reading other history and non-fiction books that are relevant to my purpose, vision and ministry
Listening to preaching messages online from women/men of God
Asking leaders in my church for guidance
Asking a community of other Bible-believing Christians for guidance
There are so many ways and opportunities that God has given us to help us receive wise counsel. This verse confirms that the more ways we apply, the safer and more protected we are from falling into the wrong paths. Praise God for wise counsel.
APPLICATION
I will continue to value the communities I am part of. I will especially build relationships with my sisters in Christ, knowing that godly friendships are so refreshing to the soul. I will pray often for wise counsel in my life and strong relationships with people who are also pursuing the wisdom of God so that we can advise each other according to God's Word and protect each other from the foolish ways of this world, so that God can get the glory in our lives.
PRAYER
Heavenly Lord, thank You because Your word is protection and a lamp to my feet. Your wisdom is safety and it delivers me from the hand of the enemy. I pray Heavenly Father as I continue to grow in wisdom that You continue to surround me with other women of God on the same journey. Thank You for this community and the women who have committed to faithfully seeking Your wisdom this year. I pray that You alone will be glorified in our lives! In Jesus mighty name I pray, amen.
