The Proverbs Challenge Day 18 - Chapter 18

Hi, Woman of God

Welcome to Day 18 of the Challenge!I can't believe how quickly this challenge is going. What a privilege it is to start a new year reading God's word every day. More girls join us on this challenge every day, and it is never too late to commit to sitting before God and allowing Him to speak to you through the Bible. He is meeting us wherever we are, praise God!Below are my study notes for today's chapter using the S.O.A.P method - let's go!  

SCRIPTURE

Proverbs Chapter 18 verse 16. 

OBSERVATION

verse 16"A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men."This verse ministered to me about how each person is gifted from God with something that makes us unique and of great value to the world. So much so that even great people will be drawn to you when you operate in your gift.Just as Joseph appeared before Pharaoh with the gift to interpret his dream (Genesis 41). Or young David appeared before the nation to defeat their greatest adversary (1 Samuel 17). God has made it so that our gifts are vehicles through which other people are blessed. They are for service onto others. And because of your gift people from high places will call for you. It is amazing to think that there are people waiting on you to exercise God’s gift over your life because your gift is the answer to their prayers.I've seen this to be true in my life. Even with this challenge. God has given me the gift of writing ever since I was young and here, in these newsletters, He is allowing me to use it to encourage other women in their walk with Him and in becoming the women God has called them to be.It is amazing what happens when you discover your gifts and you start to use it. We always start small with humble beginnings, then over time, as you refine it, you get better and better, and God takes you higher and higher. However, it takes intentionality to discover your gifts and to refine it well. If you would like a resource on how to discover your God-given gifts then please let me know, I'd be happy to help more women with this because it truly changes your life. The closer we get to God, He reveals things to us, including the gifts He has put in us and how He desires that we use them for His Kingdom. He's a good God!

APPLICATION

I will continue to use the gifts God has given me and seek new ways to do so, so that when my time on this earth is done, I can know with confidence that I used what God put in me and sought to fulfil His purpose over my life. I will also help my sisters in doing this so that the body of Christ will be equipped with diverse gifts to further the work of God's Kingdom here on this earth. 

PRAYER

I pray that every woman partaking in this challenge discovers her area(s) of gifting and receives clarity on the ways God has called her to be a blessing to others. For those who know what this is already, Lord I pray that You continue to give guidance and direction. Let every woman enjoy the favour of God as she operates in her calling and her gifts from You. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
