The Proverbs Challenge Day 21 - Chapter 21

Hi, Woman of God

Welcome to Day 21 of the Challenge!I hope you had a blessed weekend and you're ready for the week ahead! I can't believe we just have 10 days left of this Challenge. God has been so kind.See my study notes for today's chapter below and feel free to share with me your key takeaways!

SCRIPTURE

Proverbs Chapter 21 verses 1 and 5.

OBSERVATION

2 key verses I'd like to elaborate on. verse 1 "The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes." This reminds me that favour is ultimately from the Lord. It’s amazing to know that when we have the favour of God he can deliver our blessing through any man, including kings and rulers. For example, in many workplaces people are vying for promotion, fighting for positions, and competing for who can impress the boss more, yet God is saying here that promotion comes from Him. Our priority therefore doesn't need to be on any man, but we should always be seeking after the favour of God before the favour of man.verse 5"The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, But those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty."  This verse reveals how microwave success disappears as quickly as it comes and the wisdom of God requires sowing for some time before the reaping of the fruit/reward. A personal example would be my social media journey. God led me to start creating content consistently on Instagram in April of last year because I felt called to use my creative gifts to help Christians in their walk with God. In under 10 months I grew from 0 to 200,000 followers. This may seem fast to a lot of people (it is) but what many do not know is that I had been creating content in different ways for years before I started creating on Instagram and saw that accelerated growth in my page. People may see your success and not realise how long you have been putting in the work behind closed doors and remaining diligent as the increase begins to show. This is encouragement to anyone who is waiting to see the increase in the work they have been putting in: this principle is clear that as you continue to do so, you will surely receive plenty for your diligence. Do not give up prematurely!

APPLICATION

I will pray that God gives me patience and diligence, so that I am able to put in the necessary work over a consistent period of time to see the result in store for me. I will continue to listen to the wisdom of God in Proverbs, because it is teaching me how to walk in the favour which He has given freely to His children. As the Bible says in Proverbs 13:15 "Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard." Therefore, I will seek to understand the things of God, because it will bring wisdom and favour into my life. Praise God for the protection of His word!

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your word. I pray that I always seek Your favour above the favour of men. Thank You because You pour Your favour over Your children in excess amounts. I pray Lord that You give us the grace to be diligent and patient in the works of our hands, so that we will enjoy the fruit of our labour in good time, and not the poverty that games from a desperation for quick results which go as quickly as they came. May we build things that stand firm for generations after us.
