The Proverbs Challenge Day 24 - Chapter 24
Hi, Woman of God
Welcome to Day 24 of the Challenge! We are entering the final 7 days of the month and of the challenge! I cannot believe how quick it has gone and how impactful it has been on so many of us.Let's dive into God's word for today! Continue sharing your testimonies, I am excited to hear of the growth and the transformations by His Word.
SCRIPTURE
Proverbs Chapter 24 verses 3-4 and 33-34.
OBSERVATION
verse 3-4"Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches."These verses again are strengthening my desire for growing in God's wisdom, understanding and knowledge across all areas of life. It’s exciting to know that the Bible is a guide to us, helping us to know our God and to know who we now are once we become believers in His Son. True wisdom is not found in the world - in fact the world is lost and confused because they have tried to make sense of life without acknowledging God. But in actuality, true wisdom is found between the pages of the Word of God and is revealed to us by the Spirit of God. Praise God for His wisdom which has been made available to those of us that seek after it!verse 33-34"A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to rest; So shall your poverty come like a prowler, and your need like an armed man."Ah these verses, it feels like I knew them before I knew English - it seems to be every African mother's favourite verse when they are trying to get you out of bed! But this verse is SO real and its another reminder for the importance of diligence and self discipline. The verse clearly demonstrates that poverty and lack is the consequence of failing to apply discipline in this area of your life. Rising early to be productive is honestly one of the greatest acts of self control (next to sexual abstinence). The flesh is weak and every time we crucify our flesh, we see the positive fruit in our lives! It also gets easier because we are training our flesh to be obedient to our spirit and with time we develop good habits that our flesh actually begins to desire. Growing in wisdom and intimacy with God gives us the understanding, strength and ability to overcome the weaknesses of the flesh.
APPLICATION
Even after this challenge is over, I will continue in the word of God so that I can advance in wisdom, understanding and knowledge. I will continue to prioritise my mornings for spending time with God and pray for energy and productivity throughout my days that I may use each day God gives me with wisdom, and not in slumber or laziness. This does not mean I will not rest when needed, but I will pray that God helps me strike a healthy balance.
PRAYER
Thank You Heavenly Father for wisdom, knowledge and understanding. As this book has been teaching from the beginning, let Your words be a guide for my life and a lamp to my feet. I pray this for myself and my sisters, in the might name of Jesus, amen.
