The Proverbs Challenge - Start your year in God's WORD

The Sister Letters

HELLO, KINGDOM WOMAN This is your year of God's Word Applied!

Hi Woman of God

We start the Proverbs Challenge tomorrow, 1st of January!31 Chapters in the Book of Proverbs and 31 Days in January = A Chapter a Day!I am so expectant about how the Holy Spirit is going to teach us and reveal His wisdom to us during this challenge. As we start our year in the Word of God with this Challenge, I pray that it sets the foundation for the rest of our year. 2024 will be the year we experience God's presence and apply His wisdom to every area of our lives. So, here's how the Challenge will go.

Schedule:

Each day you will read the relevant chapter and apply the Method below.Allocate a time each day that you will sit down with your Bible and notebook to do this.

This is a time that you are committing to meeting with God and allowing Him to speak directly to you!January 1st - Proverbs 1January 2nd - Proverbs 2January 3rd - Proverbs 3... and so on, all the way through the month, finishing with Proverbs 31 on January 31st.

Method:

We will be using the S.O.A.P Method. I've found that this method is amazing for both new and experienced Bible readers. This is how it works.S stands for ScriptureWrite the Scripture (i.e. Verse(s)) you wish will be studying for that dayO stands for ObservationWrite down what you observe the Scripture is saying and your understanding of itA stands for ApplicationWrite out how you want to apply the Scripture to your lifeP stands for PrayerTo finish, write a prayer inspired by the Scripture and everything you've written above. If you are unfamiliar with the S.O.A.P Method there are lots of videos on YouTube to give you more clarity on it. Also don't worry, because you will receive an email from me each day to show you how I've used the S.O.A.P method for my daily reading throughout the Challenge. To summarise, here is what you will be doing each day throughout the Challenge: Step 1: pray to start and ask the Holy Spirit to minister to you through the chapter you readStep 2: read the whole chapter and highlight the scriptures/verses that stand out to you so that you can come back to them,Step 3: pick the scripture(s)/verse(s) that you would like to study in more depth (you can choose one or multiple)Step 4: Use the S.O.A.P method above to study those scriptures, writing the observation, application and prayer you have for that scripture.Step 5: Look out for my email to see how I applied the S.O.A.P method to our reading of the day.

The Playlist I play whilst studying the Word

During my time reading the Word, I like to listen to a worship music playlist in the background. You can access my YouTube Worship Playlist at the link above.

My Favourite Online Study Tool

Blue Letter Bible is my favourite resource for studying the Word because it allows me to search up ANY verse in the bible and discover the meaning of words in their original language, as well as find other times in the Bible that the same word was used.

Bibles

I often get asked which Bible I read, and I have a few that I alternate between. My recommendation would be that you read in the Bible translation that suits you. I will be reading mainly in KJV and NJKV throughout the challenge.

See you tomorrow!

I will see you all tomorrow for Day 1 of the Challenge where we will be reading Proverbs 1 and studying it with the S.O.A.P method. Make sure you star my emails so that you don't miss a day! Follow me on Instagram at @creatortochi for updates and encouragement throughout the challenge. With all my love,Tochi
