SCRIPTURE
Proverbs Chapter 22, verses 6, 24-25, and 29.
OBSERVATION
Proverbs 22:6
In a culture that often minimizes the value of raising children, this verse reinforces the importance of training them intentionally. It highlights how raising children can be one of the greatest roles a person fulfills. Women called to be mothers have a significant calling, one that should never be undervalued. It is about raising the next generation of individuals who can have a legacy-making impact on the world. When you become a parent, your role is to instill in your children the values, mindsets, and skills they need for life so that they are well-equipped. This verse assures us that if we train children in the right way early on, they will carry those teachings throughout their lives.Proverbs 22:24-25
This verse illustrates the importance of being mindful of the company we keep, as their influence is inevitable. While it mentions an angry person, the principle applies to other traits as well. For example, surrounding yourself with jealous, gossiping, or promiscuous people can influence you in those ways, just as being around kind, sociable, or intelligent individuals can inspire you positively in those ways too. This highlights the need for intentionality in choosing your friends and the environments you immerse yourself in. Even if physical connections to such individuals aren’t accessible, we have no excuse today. Thanks to technology, we can learn from podcasts, books, and online communities that reflect the traits we aspire to have.Proverbs 22:29
This verse serves as encouragement to pursue the work God has called us to with a spirit of excellence. When we work diligently and with integrity, it opens doors for us. It echoes the similar verse in Proverbs 18:16 which says, “A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men.” This reminds me to approach my God-given assignments with dedication and diligence, trusting that excellence will make way for the opportunities God has prepared.
APPLICATION
I will embrace the privilege of shaping the next generation by instilling godly values in the children I am called to nurture or influence, knowing the lasting impact it can have.
I will intentionally evaluate my relationships, ensuring that I am surrounded by people who inspire godly traits, distancing myself from influences that may lead astray. I will also continue to seek out content, mentors, and resources that will shape me into the woman God wants me to be.
I will commit to performing my work with diligence and excellence, trusting God to open doors as I faithfully steward what He has placed in my hands.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for the wisdom in Your Word. Help me to embrace the calling of shaping the next generation, instilling godly values that will remain with them for a lifetime. Grant me discernment in choosing my relationships and surrounding myself with influences that bring me closer to You. Lord, give me the daily grace to pursue my assignments with diligence and excellence, trusting that the right doors will open in due time. Thank You for Your promises and Your guidance in all areas of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
See you tomorrow for Day 23 sis and on the live Bible Quiz call ✨
